Advanced Placement/Honors: There are currently 24 AP/honors courses offered at BLS.

Athletics: BLS offers 14 sports for boys and 14 sports for girls. Three of the teams are mixed-gender: sailing, golf and wrestling.

Facing History and Ourselves: Facing History and Ourselves is a national educational organization whose mission is to engage students of diverse backgrounds in civic education that encourages the skills, promotes the values, and fosters the ideals needed to sustain a democratic society. The late Sheldon Seevak '46 was instrumental in bringing an onsite program to the school and provided much support to this program enabling its expansion. An annual website competition allows student scholarship to shine.

McCarthy Institute for Transition and Support: offers After-School Tutoring, a College Resource Center and Saturday Success School.
