 1635 Society
The 1635 Society honors those individuals who have remembered Boston Latin School
through a charitable planned gift. Planned giving refers to the process of making
a charitable gift of estate assets. By making such a gift to Boston Latin School,
alumni, parents and friends play a vital role in securing the future of the nation’s
oldest educational institution. You may join this distinguished and rapidly growing
group by supporting the school in a number of ways, including:
- Through
a bequest, which can be made in your
will, living trust or other estate plan (including use of your retirement plan
as a gift vehicle);
- Through
a gift annuity; or
- Through
a gift of appreciated securities.
Planned
gifts enable you to benefit Boston Latin in the future while
meeting your own financial needs today. Depending on the
vehicle you use to make your gift, you can save on your
income taxes, reduce or eliminate estate and inheritance
taxes, and avoid most capital-gains taxes. Please contact
your financial advisor to help you determine the most advantageous
way of benefiting yourself and Latin School. For more information
on any planned giving opportunity, please contact BLSA at 617.450.0004.

philosophy is that ‘those who take, eat well; those who give, sleep well'."
